What the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: 29 September 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information 8 Healthy (the “App”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.

2. Information You Provide

  • Account details: your name and email address when you create an account.
  • Profile details: information you add for yourself and any household profiles, such as year of birth, gender, weight and height, activity level, dietary preferences, allergies/intolerances, health goals, and any notes or preferences you enter.
  • Feedback: any messages you send us from Settings → Send Feedback.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Basic technical and usage information needed to run the App reliably (for example, app activity, device/diagnostic information, and crash data). We use this to keep the App working and to improve it.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and profiles.
  • To personalise meal plans from our recipe library, build shopping lists, and show nutrition information based on the preferences, goals and restrictions you provide.
  • To sync your data across your devices.
  • To operate, maintain, secure and improve the App, and to respond to your feedback and support requests.

5. Meal Suggestions

Meals shown in the App come from our curated recipe library. We use the preferences and constraints from your household profiles (such as dietary restrictions, allergies and goals) to decide which stored recipes to show. We only show a meal when we can prove it fits those limits. If we cannot tell, we do not show it.

6. How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on your device and in our cloud services (Google Firebase / Firestore) to enable accounts and syncing. Information is transmitted over secure connections.

7. Service Providers We Share With

We share data only with providers that help us run the App, under their own terms. For example: Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting), and a payment provider for any subscriptions.

We do not sell your personal information.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

You can edit your profiles at any time in Settings → Manage Profiles. Deleting a household profile is a soft delete: it is held in “Recently Deleted” for about 30 days so you can restore it, then permanently removed.

You can manage or remove your data from Settings → Data Management. Deleting your account removes your associated data, subject to any retention required by law.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the App (Manage Profiles, Privacy Controls, Data Management), or by contacting us.

10. Children

The App is not directed to children who do not meet the minimum age required to consent in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from such children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

13. Contact

For privacy questions or requests about the App, contact us at 8healthy@gmail.com. We aim to respond as soon as we can.
